Online Astronomy classes were conducted on Google classroom for Astronomy Club students in association with Space India. As a part of Universe in the School programme, the students of class 8 participated in Newton’s Disk activity.
Global Astronomy Month was celebrated in April and various Astronomy based events and international competitions were organised for students throughout the month. Some of these events were Globe at Night, Astro Arts, Astro Poetry, Yuri's Night, Earth Day and many more.

- On 12th April Yuri's night was celebrated at Russian Centre for Science and Culture. Yuri’s Night is an international celebration held every April 12 to commemorate milestones in space exploration. THE LAUNCH OF CHANDRAYAAN-II
The school organised a live screening session on the occasion of the launch of Chandrayan-II on 22nd July, 2019. The event was covered by the BBC World News and witnessed active participation of the students of Astronomy Club from classes VI-X. The jubilant students hailed it as a glorious moment in the history of the scientific reliance of our country.
Akshat Sharma and Harshit Narnoli of Class 12th are the proud discoverers of a Main Belt Asteroid which has been provisionally named 2015FL11. This discovery is prominent and etches their name in scientific history. In due course of time after the asteroid has been observed, they may be able to name the asteroid also. Their discovery is at par with research work being undertaken globally. The global agencies concerned with asteroid discoveries have already acknowledged the students’ achievements. The effort of the students and the teachers under the guidance of SPACE made this achievement possible.

7 July Date of updation July 2021 | The students were encouraged to have a safe celebration of Makar Sakranti by making them aware of the dangers of using thread made of plastic, nylon or similar synthetic material for kite flying. A special e-poster, along with the guidelines issued by Govt. of NCT of Delhi, was circulated on the class WhatsApp groups. In an endeavour to create awareness on ‘How to keep Noise Pollution Under Control’, the Eco club members prepared an e-brochure and shared the pamphlet issued by the Department of Environment with the students. A report on Tree Census was prepared by the Eco-Club coordinators as per the directive of Department of Forest and Wild Life. All the trees in the school were given specific numbers and the details of species, girth, phenotype and location with geo-coordinates were listed. An awareness drive on Air Pollution was conducted in all the sections of Class VI by the students of the Eco-club to sensitise the students about the quality of air in Delhi. Students from Classes VI to IX participated in the quiz competition organised by CMS Vatavaran on 2nd February, 2021 on the topic-Wetlands of India and received Certificates of Appreciation. |
The Eco Club organized a number of activities and competitions over the weekend and to celebrate the World Environment Day on 5th June, 2020. The activities included:

- Designing catchy slogans, posters and poems on conservation of electricity and water.
The Eco Club of the school was actively engaged in a number of eco friendly activities:
- Students were urged to use cotton thread for flying kites to celebrate festivals, as per the guidelines issued by Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
- Eco-friendly Ganesha idols with biodegradable material such as atta, maida, and paper on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
- A Virtual Van Mahotsav was celebrated on 15th August, 2020, wherein the student members planted saplings, made posters on Save Trees and recycled old plastic bottles to make planters.
- Members attended a webinar on International Tiger Day organised by CMS Vatavaran, on the topic ‘What does the Pandemic Mean for Tiger Conservation?’, on 29th July, 2020.
Eco Club members of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura leave no opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to the mission of preserving our natural environment and taking care of the mother Earth. The members work consistently to inspire the students to become environmentally responsible citizens of the world. As a result, they actively participate in the events dedicated to the cause of preserving the environment.
Eco Club organized weekend activities for classes VI – X. The activities were aimed at encouraging the students to sustain the mission of environment conservation even during lockdown. Some of the activities were growing vegetables, microgreens from the seeds available at home, making manure with the kitchen waste and designing catchy slogans, posters and poems on conservation of electricity and water.

An art activity was conducted for the students of Middle Department from 27th February , 2020 to 6th March , 2020 . The students worked in pairs and created purses/ wallets/ sling bags by weaving old newspaper, giving them a personal touch while incorporating the theme “Save Environment”.
- An informative workshop on ‘Microgreens’ was conducted by Ms. Sangeeta Aggarwal from CKD Greens at Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura for the Eco Club students. The students grew various microgreens like Purple Radish, Wheatgrass and mustard. They learnt that microgreens are a great source of beneficial compounds like antioxidants and a rich source of potassium, iron and zinc. Innovate recipes of microgreens were also shared with the students during the session.

My daughter was a part of the workshop on Microgreens and it was a very enriching experience. The students learnt about organic farming and each of them was given a box with soil and seeds. It was a great learning opportunity for the students.

SAY NO TO PLASTIC CAMPAIGN
Initiatives undertaken by the members of the Eco Club to make the school a Single Use Plastic Free Zone:
Ms. Harmeet, from TERI, conducted a workshop to sensitize the students and make them aware of the practical solutions/ alternatives such as replacing plastic containers and bottles with steel/ glass ones.
The information was further disseminated with the circulation of handouts among the teachers of the school.
A signature campaign, aimed at sensitizing the parents and the students about the hazards of plastic straws , was conducted on the PTM. Single use plastic bottles are done away with in school.
A sale-cum-display stall of herbal plants was put up by the eco club members on the day of the PTM on 17th August, 2019. The purpose of putting up the stall was to acquaint the parents with various herbal plants and their utility.
Anti –Plastic Rally
As a part of the campaign against plastic use, the members of the Eco Club conducted a rally- Say No to Plastic- on 23rd August 2019. This was followed by a street play in the local market of Pushpanjali, Pitampura. The play helped in sensitising the locals about the hazards of plastic use and culminated with the shopkeepers pledging not to use plastic in future.

ECO Friendly Celebration – Ganesh Utsav
With an aim to promote an eco-friendly celebration of Ganesh Utsav, the members of the Eco club prepared a handout on the environmentally safe immersion of Ganesh idols. The handout was circulated across the students of the Middle Department.
Jal Shakti Abhiyan
In order to sensitize the students and the community regarding the 'Conservation of Water', numerous activities were conducted by the Eco club students in our school. The students prepared a PPT and conducted a workshop to create awareness about the importance of conservation of water in our lives. They informed their peers about a few simple and effective measures to save water.
To further strengthen the habit of conserving water, a questionnaire was prepared for the students which was attempted by them.
Posters on conservation of water were prepared by the students and were put up in the school campus. A hand out was circulated to the parents to reach out to the parent community and make this Jal Abhiyan even more successful.
Van Mahotsav was also organised in the school where the students planted the saplings of Amaltas, Jamun and Dhak.
On the occasion of ‘Earth Day’ the students of Eco Club conducted an activity in class VI. The students prepared cut outs of the Earth and filled them with different colours. They stood out with their stunning art pieces pinned on their shirts. The students were also enlightened about the various ways in which they can save Mother Earth. The whole event was summed up with a pledge that the students took to preserve the planet for themselves and the future generations.
TERI, the School of Advanced Studies has initiated a project “SOS” [Scrap Out Scrap] – An action on Waste Management. In the first phase of this project the school filled a need-based assessment form followed by a Skype session which was conducted with TERI and the SOS core team of the Eco Club students. The aim of the session was to understand the various solid waste management practices in our school.
- A Tree Plantation Drive with the aim to promote importance of trees was conducted on 3rd May, 2019. Vice Principal, Ms. Loveleen Kapoor, Head Mistresses, Ms. Kavita Dhar and Ms. Poonam Tyagi PTA members and the students of the Eco Club planted saplings in various areas of the school.
- A circular was distributed among students and parents on 10th May, 2019 regarding the hazardous effects of using aluminum foil. It informed the students that aluminum is very reactive and can pose dangers to health. High aluminum intake may prove to be harmful to the patients suffering from bone diseases and renal impairment and is a contributing factor to Alzheimer’s disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The alternatives were also suggested like using good quality wrapping like butter / paper wrappers.
- With the aim to sensitise students about the deteriorating plight of nature, Eco Club conducted an innovative activity wherein the students made banners and emphasized on the need to save our environment. The banners were put up on trees within the school complex and were instrumental in spreading the message.
- On the occasion of Earth Day, the Eco Club students of class VIII took an initiative to create different types of planters - Coloured cement planters, eggshell planters, gems ball planters and coconut planters. Plants were placed in the denims’ pockets and crocs.
- Bird feeders were also made from old cups and were kept in the garden to feed the birds.
- There is a dire need to have plants that generate an increased amount of oxygen in the air. Hence, to purify the air the members of Eco Club distributed Sansevieria plant, commonly known as Mother-in Law’s tongue, an indoor plant to all the faculties, labs and libraries and the students were encouraged to do the same at home. Plants were placed by the students in the Conference Room , Reception and Principal Office.
- Siddhi Garg of Class VII won the First prize in the Poster Making competition held on the occasion of World Environment Day on 03rd June , 2018 in Delhi, by CMS Vatavaran in association with TERI(Tata Energy Research Institute) and the Indian Ministry of Climate and Environment Changes. Aditi Aggarwal (IX G), Deepansh Khanna (VII A), Tulika Bhatia (VIII B) were the Second Runners Up in the ‘Enviro Quiz’ among the 150 schools all over India.The occasion was graced by Dr Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
In an attempt to put a halt to the ever increasing level of air pollution and global warming, the students of Bal Bharati Pitampura along with the Gardening and Eco club staff members launched an ‘Anti Firecracker Drive’ during the Diwali days . Students from class IX gave presentations in different classes and sensitized children about the ill effects of burning crackers and virtue of celebrating a green and clean Diwali. Volunteers of the campaign came up with appealing posters stressing on the harmful consequences that these crackers pose. This noble cause to save the environment and mother earth was lauded by all and a pledge was taken by the students not to burn crackers and make this Diwali a green one.
A workshop on E-Waste was organized for students of class IX on 15th May, 2017. The students were told about the harmful effects of dumping the E-Waste in landfills and how we should control it. Pamphlets were also distributed among the students as well as parents to sensitise them about the same. This was followed by a collection drive being initiated to collect the E-waste. An E-waste collection box has been placed in the school reception area for the same.
The Eco Club students visited Yamuna Biodiversity Park on 12th December, 2017. It was a great learning experience for the students as they explored the flora and fauna of the park. They also gained knowledge about various medicinal plants and understood the importance of restoration of an ecosystem.
The Eco Club students took an initiative to prepare vermicompost in the school. They put up a stall on the PTM where they promoted awareness about the advantages of vermicompost to the parents and the students and sold the samples made by them for use by the parents.
NDTV and DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance Company Limited have launched a campaign to work towards creating a ‘BEHTAR INDIA’. The campaign aims at creating nationwide movement, focusing on its three platforms–HEALTH, CLEANLINESS & ENVIRONMENT. A briefing session was conducted by NDTV on 19th May, 2017 in the school.
- The Eco club organized various activities during the Talent Hunt held from 19th to 21st December, 2016 sensitizing the students about the Urgency of Protecting the Environment. The activities were themed around environmental issues such as Poster Making on ‘Blossoming Flowers’, ‘Go Green Before the Green Goes ‘ and ‘Save Birds’ , making bookmarks using waste material, recycling old shoes to create new ones, decoration of pot planters and making rangoli depicting ‘protection of marine life.’ The activities were not only enjoyed by each one of our participants but it also oriented them with the importance of saving the environment.
- An Essay Writing Competition was conducted by Samsung Engineering and Tunza Ecogeneration (November). Gehna Kapoor of class X received an honorable mention at the event. The theme was ‘Future of Energy and Young People’.
- The students and the teacher members of the Eco Club of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, organized various events from 21st to 23rd December, 2015, to sensitise students towards the preservation of the environment and their Natural Heritage. An ensemble of competitions including Colouring Competition, T-shirt Painting, Hand/Face Painting Competition, Wall Graffiti, Singing Competition and Drawing Competition were organized on the theme "Nature, Wildlife and Culture".
- Ms . Shweta Arya and Ms. Neetu Verma attended the Tree Census Workshop on 18th Feburary in GBSS School. In continuation with this regard, a tree Census was conducted within the school where each Tree was counted and numbered.
- The school registered for the GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAMME AUDIT 2015-2016. It’s an environment education programme to subtly sensitize students to the environment through hands on and thought provoking activities. The school ranked 94th out of 500 school registrations and it was declared as Green School.
2022-23
- Acknowledging the fact that we all have a responsibility towards the less fortunate ones and do the best that we can for them, the Junior Library at Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura donated 1500 books consisting of story books, text books and grammar books to Goonj, a non-profit organization.
- The students and teachers of the Primary Department visited Toy Bank at Adharshila Public School, Pitampura, on 7th September, 2022, to donate toys, colouring material and games for the less privileged.
This act helped them understand the virtue of being kind and imbibe the value of sharing with others.
Date of Updation 29.10.2021 | The Installation Ceremony of the Interact Club of Bal Bharati Public School for the year 2021-22, was held on October 1, 2021. The outgoing President, Aditi Agarwal, and the outgoing ZIR, Anshika Chadha, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the Club. Eminent Rotarian, the District Chair for the Interact Club, Mr. Mukesh Aggarwal, attended the event along with other dignitaries. A donation drive was conducted to encourage the students and the parents to donate their old clothes, books, stationery etc. The proceeds of the drive were sent to Prayas, a registered NGO. Extending a helping hand to those facing challenges in difficult times, the school distributes essential groceries every month to the families who need it. Over 140 families benefit from this initiative. We thank our parents who have supported this endeavour. The school has also extended financial and emotional support to the families of children affected by covid. The school organised ‘Langar’ for the establishment staff on the occasion of Durga Ashtami on 13th October 2021. The school has made every effort to support staff and parent community during these difficult times. Fee concessions and fee waivers have been granted to students on the basis of merit, need and also to those who lost their parents to Covid. |

The Student Council has launched a drive wherein they are encouraging students, staff and parents to donate old electronic devices like mobile phones, tabs, Laptops not in use. We have received a very encouraging response and collections have already begun. These devices are being handed over to students belonging to the economically weak sections so that they may continue attending their online classes.
Extending a helping hand to those facing challenges in difficult times, Bal Bharati Public School Pitampura has always contributed to the society. Keeping up the tradition, the school came forward and distributed the essential food items, to those in need. Grocery provisions were distributed to the EWS parents, housekeeping staff, the essential staff and the security guards. Over 300 families benefitted from this endeavor.
This club offers the opportunity to the children to carry out service projects and connect with others in their community or school. The Online Installation ceremony of the club of our school was held on 29th August 2020.

The students carried pulses, rice, sugar, toiletries and eatables for the inhabitants. The life of the street children and the day spent dancing and interacting with them, surely gave enough food for thought to our students who are now all geared up to bring a change in the society.
Rashtriya Pragya Drishti Sansthan is a school for blind children who want to study and excel in life not letting their disabilities discourage them . On 31st August 2019 , students of class 12F visited the institution, as a part of the SEWA activity . The main idea of the visit was to instill humanity, sensitivity and empathy in the students for differently abled people. The students , after witnessing the situation of people, their age facing difficulties and yet being so cheerful and optimistic, were grateful for the invaluable gifts given to them .

Goonj (NGO) visited us for their annual event “SCHOOLS MEET “on 02.08.19. they have invited different schools to show their working. Mr. Anshu Gupta addressed the gathering to talk about the how can schools help in some disasters. Annually we donate our withdrawn books to this Ngo.
The Interact Club of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, was awarded the ‘PLATINUM CLUB AWARD’ and felicitated by the District Governor Subhash Jain, District Interact Chair, Sachin Vats and several other dignitaries on 23rd June, 2019 at PHD Chambers of Commerce, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.
The Teacher Co-ordinator, Ms. Rashmi Ashtikar, was awarded with the ‘GOVERNOR’S APPRECIATION AWARD’ for her constant and unparalleled support to the school’s club.

- The students of class XII-C visited Missionaries of Charity Nirmal Hriday, a shelter for the homeless on 4th May, 2019. The aim of the visit was to sensitise the students towards the impoverished and their needs. The students met the Sister In-charge who addressed them and shared the problems they face on a daily basis. The students got the opportunity to interact with the inmates. The students donated grocery items generously.
- Carrying forward its legacy of lending a helping hand as and when possible, the students and staff of Primary Department once againcame together and donated wholeheartedly for the Goonj Foundation, an organisation which collects woollens, stationery items, school bags and eatables to help the lesser privileged people. The material was sent on Saturday, 6th April 2019 at the Collection Camp organised by Goonj for this purpose.
- The Rotary Club of Delhi conducted interviews for ZIR (Zonal Interact Representative) and DIR (District Interact Representative) on the 30th of June in Ghaziabad. Four students of BBPS Pitampura attended the interview. Ms. Aditi Jain of class XI was selected as the ZIR.
- The Interact Club of Bal Bharati Public School, New Delhi-34 organized the Rotary International District 3012 Swimming Meet at B.B.P.S. Pitampura on 10th June, 2018. It was inaugurated by Rotary District Governor Elect Rtn. Deepak Gupta.
As part of the social sensitivity and responsibility initiative, students regularly visit orphanages, old age homes and institutions for the less privileged. They carry with them contributions made by all and spend valuable and enriching time with the inmates.
- A Blood Donation Camp was held in Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura on the 7th of October, 2017. This was organised by the Interact Club of the school. Approximately forty units of blood were collected. The parents and members of the staff enthusiastically came forward to promote this noble cause.
- The students of Bal Bharati Public School visited the NGO - Bal Sahyog on 18th November, 2017. The students first met the counselor of the NGO who briefed them about the aims and objectives of the NGO. The main objective of the NGO is to take care of run away and orphan children. The students had the opportunity to interact with the children.
- The students and teachers came forward to help the NGO ‘Spread a Smile’ by contributing uniforms, school bags, shoes and sewing machines
- The students and teachers of Primary Department visited the Earth Saviours Foundation and donated woollens, shoes and dry rations.
- Five student appointments of the Interact Club of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura attended a Youth Empowerment Leadership Camp, RYLA, organised by the Rotary Club. The camp was organised from the 19 th of January to the 21st January in OP Jindal University, Sonepat. Shubham Chandna of 11A was awarded the Best Footballer Trophy.
- Students of classes IX-XI visited an NGO ‘PRAYAS’ on 20th January, 2018 and 16th February, 2018. They carried stationery items and eatables and interacted with the under privileged children who study in Prayas. The main purpose of this trip was to sensitize our students towards the less privileged section of our society.
- The Community Service group of our school took an initiative of helping the needy children by collecting old book sets, bags, water bottles, lunch boxes, uniforms etc. from each section of Classes VI-IX.
The collected material was then given to the EWS students and guards who cannot afford to buy these books and other items. The extra books will be sent to the NGOs to help the underprivileged children of the society.
The school donated old furniture and plasmas to various schools and organisations.
- Service to humanity, an awareness about one’s responsibilities and commitment to the society are values that are inculcated in BBPS, Pitampura. Keeping these objectives in mind, the Interact Club of the school, in collaboration with Singer Machines has launched a unique programme of teaching sewing to women from the underprivileged section of the society. The aim of the Interact Club is to encourage them to become self- sufficient and independent women. It was with great pride that the certificates were given to the first batch of students who successfully completed the course.
- Our students have been supporting the Earth Saviours Foundation in its selfless mission to look after less privileged people. It has always been our endeavour to educate our students and make them sensitive towards those less fortunate. The foundation sent a token of appreciation to acknowledge the same.
- Complimentary Books were withdrawn from both the Libraries and donated to N.G.O “Goonj” under the “School to School Programme” on 3rd March, 2017.
A group of students of Class 12 , visited Earth Saviors Foundation an NGO for the less privileged. This initiative was organized to make the students aware of their social responsibilities and to be committed towards community service. The students spent time with the inmates and donated food, clothing etc. They came back with a sharpened sensitivity and understanding of the needs and problems of those less privileged.
30 students of the Primary Department also visited ‘Earth Saviours Foundation’ on 7th May 2015. The group interacted with the senior citizens living there. Besides this, they also met the physically & mentally challenged children. The students lightened up their mood by dancing and singing for them. They brought smiles on their faces. The group also donated medicines & edible stuff such as oil, sugar, tea leaves, candles, matchboxes, bed sheets and clothes for them.
PRIMARY DEPARTMENT 2022-23
- The Green Warriors Club of the Primary Department provided with a unique opportunity to the students of Classes III-V to connect with nature through a plethora of activities. Students of Class III wore their creative caps and made different animal patterns using dry leaves and flowers. Class IV students grew their own microgreens and learnt the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The young learners of Class V performed experiments, thereby exploring and learning about ways to deal with oil spills.
- An online activity on the theme 'Wetlands Action for People and Nature’ was conducted in Classes III –V World Wetlands Day on 2nd February, 2022.
- With an aim to keep moving ahead towards sensitising the students, parents and community at large, the Green Warriors and Gardening Clubs of the Primary Department have once again collaborated together. Human activities are damaging our beautiful planet. To talk about climate change is the need of the hour. Small steps taken today will lead to a better future. The students of the Primary Department took an initiative of creating awareness among the masses by presenting a street play on 'Save Environment'. The same was followed by a live worksheet which was attempted by all to learn the practices which help our mother earth to heal.
- This year our gardening club has embarked on a new venture of cultivating medicinal plants and the plants useful in the kitchen. They are also working hard to get all the information of these plants and will be preparing pamphlets mentioning their uses and tips for gardening to bring awareness among other students.
- Gardening club students got an opportunity to actively participate in the tree plantation drive organised by Times of India group on 18th August 2015 at Bakoli village. 40 students along with two teachers went to the venue and planted approx. 200 trees. It was altogether a wonderful experience of doing something for the environment in which we live.
- Students of Classes III to V planted a sapling in the DIY Planters, that were made using old Single Use Plastic bottles, to raise awareness about our environment among the masses. As many as 350 planters were hung up in the Primary Department on 31st August, 2022.
- My Tree Program: Students of the ‘Gardening Club’ and ‘Green Warriors’ presented a street play ‘GO GREEN’ to the students of Class V on 15th November’2022.Through this enactment, students created awareness among their peers about the impact of cutting trees, using single-use plastics and increased carbon footprints.
- ‘Green Warriors and Gardening Club’ of the Primary Department organised a donation drive named ‘Sankalp Taru’, on 11th and 24th December, 2022. Parents purchased planters made by the students and donated generously for the NGOs like Prayas. The students presented a Street Play to highlight the importance of planting trees.
2022-23
The Heritage Club of the Primary Department organised a number of activities for the students of Classes IV and V. the activities aimed at making the students aware about our magnificent monuments and taking a pledge to promote and preserve them. The activities helped in inciting their interest in our traditions and culture. The students were also taken on a virtual tour of the Red Fort besides sharing their own experiences of visiting any of the monuments. The students attempted a brief worksheet as well giving information about some basic facts related to Red Fort.
Itihaas Walk - National Museum
An excursion to the National Museum was organised by the ITIHAAS group on 27th September and 1st October 2019 for class VI . A total of 250 students from class VI, along with 9 teachers, visited the Museum. The facilitators from the ITIHAAS group briefed the students about the History of New Delhi and the construction of the National Museum.
The students were grouped into two teams. They were then taken around the Harappan Gallery and the Decorative Gallery in turns. The students learnt about the different artefacts of the Harrappan times – the seals, pottery, jewellery, tools, paintings and other important items that depicted the culture of Harappa and Mohen-jo-daro. The excursion ended with a recapitulation of all that the students had seen and observed inside the Museum.students had seen and observed inside the Museum.
Itihaas Walk - Gandhi Smriti
An excursion to the Gandhi Smriti was organised by the ITIHAAS group on 27th September and 3st October 2019 for class VII. A total of 250 students from class VII, along with 9 teachers, visited the Museum. The facilitators from the ITIHAAS group briefed the students about the life of Mahatma Gandhi and his principles.
The students were grouped into two teams and were taken around the area to show the artefacts related to the life of Gandhi.
The students were shown a movie on the life of Gandhi and were motivated to follow his principles of truth and non- violence.
Election Museum
An excursion to the Election Museum was organised by the ITIHAAS group on 30th September and 1st October 2019 for class VIII. A total of 220 students from class VIII, along with 8 teachers, visited the Museum. The facilitators from the ITIHAAS group briefed the students about the election process in India, its various stages and its history.
The shift from ballot boxes to Electronic Voting Machines was explained to the students.
The students were also shown a movie on the importance of voting in a democracy. The visit was both educational and entertaining.
The ITIHAAS Summer Heritage Programme was organised during the summer vacation from 21st to 25th May, 2019 at the National Gandhi Museum in New Delhi. 6 students from classes VI to X of our school attended this programme. The students met and interacted with Founder Director, ITIHAAS, Smita Vats. The programme ingrained in them confidence, and the VIDIA values (versatility, integrity, discipline, innovation, attention to detail).
Two students from class XI, Ganeev Kaur and Yahvi Jhakodia attended the ‘Summer Internship’ programme conducted by ‘Itihaas’.They visited the Election Museum, New Delhi and interacted with the Chief Election Officer, Delhi, Mr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar. It was a platform to learn from other students and experts of various fields and move towards responsible citizenship, as they would be voters soon.
The ITIHAAS-Summer Museum Internship Programme 2018, in collaboration with the National Museum (Delhi), was attended by four students of class XII, Navya Kumar, Bhavya Mahla, Dhriti Chopra and Tanisha Bhatia from June 6-June13, 2018. The student interns prepared audits of the various departments—which gave them an opportunity to deliver feedback about the museum, its galleries and its services directly to the concerned authorities. The valuable inputs collected by the interns will be consolidated in a document which will be presented to the museum later this year.
Visit to Central Delhi, Gol Dak Khana
ITIHAAS group organized a visit to Gol Dak Khana, Central Delhi on 24th and 25th April for the students of Class VII. Around 230 students accompanied by 12 teachers visited the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and Sacred Heart Cathedral to understand the diverse ideas that give our country its identity.
The students got the chance to interact with the head priest at both the places to understand the essence of coexistence necessary for the well-being of all. They had an enriching experience of the different faiths through these places of worship and a detailed discussion on the festivals, beliefs, celebrations associated with them.
Visit to Kashmiri Gate
Class VIII visited Kashmiri Gate on 25th and 26th April, 2018. The heritage walk focused on the journey of our nation from 1857 to 2018. The students understood the causes and events of the First War of Independence and its impact on the Freedom Movement.
The students were also given a glimpse of Modern India and our electoral processes through a visit to the Election Museum.
Visit to the Parliament Street Police Station, The Patiala House Courts and The Supreme Court Museum
A visit to the Parliament Street Police Station, The Patiala House Courts and The Supreme Court museum was organized for a around 290 students of Class IX on 3rd and 4th May18.The visit enriched the students with the knowledge of how law and order is maintained in our society and the role the judiciary plays in it.
A visit to Quila-e-Mubarak was organized in association with the ITIHAAS group for around 240 students of Class VII on 27th October and 1st December, 2017 . 12 teachers accompanied the group. The students and teachers visited the fort complex and understood the history of the place and its relevance. They were also guided about the impressive architecture of the monument built by Shah Jahan and its focal points such as the Chhatta Chowk, the two Audience Halls, Rang Mahal, Moti Masjid and Swatantrata Sangram Sanghralaya.
BBPS, Pitampura with the approval of the Archaeological Survey of India undertook to contribute towards conserving Sheesh Mahal, a site of great historical importance where the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was coronated, as a part of the ‘Adopt a Monument’ project. The students of class XI and teachers undertook the work of cleaning and conserving the site. In the next visit to the site the project will be taken further by removing the overgrown grass, cleaning the surroundings, planting trees and beautifying the place.
The Heritage Club of our school associated itself with ITIHAAS for an internship programme on the judicial system in our country. Sixteen students of classes XI & XII participated in the initiative. The three day programme from 8th to 10th October, 2016 sensitized the young citizens of our country about the various functions performed by different organs and agencies of our government. The students visited the Police Station located at the Parliament Street, met the persons of prominence and conducted a station audit. They also met student activists and understood the power of protest at Jantar Mantar.

A visit to Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya’s Dargah was organized in association with the ITIHAAS group for more than 200 students of Class X on 29th and 30th November 2016. The Principal, Meenu Goswami and the Head Mistress (Senior) Ms. Kavita Dhar accompanied the group. The students and teachers visited the dargahs of Nizamuddin Auliya and Amir Khusro, understood the history of the place and its relevance, and adored the various anecdotes about Hazrat’s life from the 21st descendent of the Auliya, Mr. Farred. They were also guided about the impressive architecture of the monument built during the periods of Delhi Sultanate and the Mughals. They also enjoyed a melodious Qawali which was being sung at the auspicious place.
Twenty two students of class IX and X participated in a competition organized by ITIHAAS competing with 60 finalist choirs on 28th August, 2015. Around 300 schools and more than 4000 students from all over the country participated in the zonal round out of which about 40 schools made it to the finals. A song was composed by the students on the theme of ‘Inequality’. Anveshan 2015 Final was held at Siri Fort Auditorium where the shortlisted teams performed live to an audience of schools from all over India.
As part of the Heritage Club activity, a study visit to the Parliament Museum and the Parliament House for class X was organized between 24th July to 12th August, 2015 in association with the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST). BPST is the premier training body providing opportunities for systematic study and training in various disciplines of parliamentary institutions, processes and procedures, to the Legislators and Parliamentary officials. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to visit the Parliament Museum, Parliament Library and one of the houses of the Indian Parliament. The students interacted with Members of the Parliament during the briefing sessions, and were told about the procedures followed in the Parliament.

A road Safety week was organized by the VROOM club to sensitize the students about the increasing number of road accidents and the safety measures to be taken while on the road. A short movie was screened for the students of classes VI and VII. The movie was based on over speeding and ignoring basic traffic rules and its consequences. In continuation to this, a PowerPoint presentation was delivered and a road safety quiz was conducted in the classrooms. The students also took a pledge to tell their parents to follow road safety rules while driving.
The VROOM Club in association with IRSC, IIT Delhi, WHO and Ford India conducted various Road Safety activities on 23rd April 2018 in the school as a part of the National Road Safety Week.
- Classes VI and VII participated in a drawing competition on the theme ‘Show Courtesy on Roads’.
- More than 500 students of classes VII and VIII filled the ‘Safety Report Card of Parents’ on the basis of the driving behaviour of their parents.
- Class VIII attended an awareness workshop to promote the spirit of Road Safety in the community.
- In order to sensitize students about the road safety issues and to spread awareness, a quiz on Road Safety was conducted in classes VI to X. More than fifty students participated in this quiz conductedby SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) and attempted the paper enthusiastically. It helped in testing their knowledge about road safety rules and regulations.
- Traffic police conducted School Road Safety Awareness Campaign 2017-18 at Zonal level during the first week of December held at Traffic Training Park in Punjabi Bagh, in which more than 200 schools participated from Delhi, NCR. Ansh Bansal and Sarthak Kapoor of class VIII, won the I prize of Rs 5000 each in the quiz competition (middle category) and Punya Malhotra and Sameep Wasu won the cash prize of Rs 3000 each in the debate competition (senior category) . The awards were given by Shri Deependra Pathak, IPS Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic).These students participated in the State Level Competition held on 16th January, 2018(result awaited).
A rally was organised by Prabhav Foundation in collaboration with ICICI Lombard and SRPM(NGO) on May 8, 2017 at Talkatora Stadium. Students of Vroom Club participated in it and also performed a skit on Road Safety to spread awareness among people.
- Road Safety School (Ride Safe India) ROSES in partnership with Hero Moto Corp Limited and Delhi Traffic Police Road Safety Cell launched a campaign to initiate a thought process among the school students to think about road safety as an integral part of our daily life. An assembly session was organized on 18th October 2016 for students of grades 6 to 8. A street play was performed to bring awareness towards the cause of the road safety. Two separate workshops were conducted with primary and senior students to train them for leadership in road safety.

School started technology club (Level I and II) for the tech enthusiast, wherein they will learn App development, coding and Robotics using Lego. Level II students will also work on some real time project in the school. During ongoing sessions of the club, these topics were covered:
Students of Level I learned basics of gears, pulleys and levers. They developed a spinning top and power car using these parts. Basics of EV3 kit and sensors were also introduced.
Level II students were introduced to Aurdiuno. They started with basic Aurdiuno programming and developed projects like a mood lamp using RGB, Object avoidance Bot and Line follower Bot.
CYBER SMART
‘Cyber Security is everyone’s responsibility!’ To emphasise the need of cyber security in the digital world, the Cyber Guards of Class V initiated an awareness campaign in December 2022. They sensitized their peers about do’s and don’ts for being safe online. Children understood the importance of not only being cyber safe but also being CYBER SMART.

Date of Updation July7,2021 | The club shared a digital brochure of Useful Tips and Strategies for the students to make the most of the digital exposure that has become a need of the hour. The brochure was circulated on the class WhatsApp groups. The club took the initiative to help the students overcome their fear of public opinion, also known as FOPO, by creating and circulating a short, animated video on the subject. This encouraged the students to express themselves without hesitation. The club conducted a peer-to-peer learning session for Class VI-VIII students to empower them to stay safe in the virtual world. The session helped in addressing the student safety concerns in the digital world by sharing imperative tips on Digital Literacy and Digital Etiquette. The Pinnacle Club of the school took an initiative to spread awareness among students regarding the permanent digital footprint created by them with each online interaction. The students were encouraged to curate positive digital footprints and to respect the privacy of others through a short-animated video regarding online etiquette.
A video by a cyber security expert, Mr. Rakshit Tandon, was also shared with students to make them aware of responsible digital behavior.
An emoji, a small digital picture representing an idea, expression or a reaction is used widely to express a variety of emotions. They have now become a part of our day-to-day life. Keeping in mind the importance of these digital pictures, July 17 is celebrated as World Emoji Day across the globe.
The students of the Pinnacle Club designed a few activities like Face Painting using Emoji, Create your own Emoji, Emoji T-shirt and many more on World Emoji Day for the students of classes VI to VIII.

DIGITAL HELPERS EMPOWERING THE ESSENTIAL STAFF OF THE SCHOOL
The students of the Pinnacle Club Conducted a workshop for the Essential staff of the school on 23/11/2019.
These young digital natives explained to the digital immigrants about the Internet based tools like Email, Google maps and saving pictures on the Google drive.
After showing a YouTube video on how to create Email id's, they provided one-to -one support and assisted them to communicate with each other by composing an e-mail.
Learners felt comfortable with the students ultimately assuaging the fears associated with technology and the learning experience exhibited by them was immense.
Students also interviewed the essential staff about their experience of the workshop.
TECHNOLOGY WEEK
In the current era of progression towards the world of Internet of Things (IOT), there is a growing threat to the privacy and security of all the Internet users. Moreover, the rapid growth of mobile phone users is augmenting this problem. Therefore there is a pressing need for the students to understand the basics of online vulnerabilities and cyber security.
With this objective in view, Technology Week was conducted by the Pinnacle Club of the school for classes VI to IX from 1/11/2019 to 8/11/2019.
During the week workshops were conducted on topics such as “Technology Trailblazers”, “Email Bombing”, “Spoofing” , “Tips for better password security” ,”Fear of Missing Out” and “Workshop for the essential staff and helpers”.
TECHNOLOGY TRAILBLAZERS
A workshop was conducted for the students of classes VI to IX to make them aware of the famous personalities who have contributed to the field of Technology. This was followed by a quiz for the students.
FOMO:HOW TO HELP DIGITAL KIDS OVERCOME THE FEELING OF MISSING OUT
While the feeling of FOMO has been around for centuries, social media has done its part to amplify it.It can cause emotional fallouts for teenagers today.
FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is that uneasy feeling that you are missing out on something more interesting, exciting than what you are currently doing.
JOMO (Joy of Missing Out) is a feeling of freedom and relief that we’ve unplugged and are fully present in the moment.
To encourage students to nurture more JOMO than FOMO, students of the Pinnacle Club organized a session with the students of classes VI and VII towards practicing mindfulness in technology and personal contentment on 27/11/2019
- Microsoft Office Specialist India and World Championship
COMPUDON Season VIII – Gateway to 2018 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship was held on 14th and 15th May 2018. 43 students from classes VIII to XII participated in this competition.
10 students of Pinnacle Club have qualified for India Finals of COMPUDON Season VIII and have received certificates for successfully completing the requirements to be recognized as a Microsoft Office Specialist.
Certificate of Appreciation has also been awarded to Ms Mona Sharma, TGT(Computer), in recognition of her valuable contribution to COMPUDON Season VIII “Gateway to the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship”
Besides being a part of the competition, it was a platform for students to showcase their mastery in using key Microsoft Office Applications.
- Bullying is a major problem in our society today, which greatly interferes with students’ ability to learn and to enjoy their childhood. Keeping this in mind, students of the Pinnacle Club brainstormed some Cyber Safety strategies for parents which can help reduce the chance of their child becoming a victim. The handouts were given to parents on 9th March, 2018 (Parents Teacher Meeting).
- In an endeavor to spread awareness on the Goods and Services tax, the students of the Pinnacle Club presented a skit on the topic “GST” in the Badminton court on 24th October, 2017. The skit was aimed at showing how “One Nation One Tax” system has replaced multiple cascading taxes levied by the Central and State governments. The students not only enjoyed the humour in the skit, but also gained knowledge about how GST impacted our Indian Economy and the wallet of the common man.
- The Pinnacle Club conducted Technovation Programme on 12th May 2017 which aimed at providing the students with a gateway to attain advanced level computer skills. The members of the club designed a website http://byteclub.html-5.me/ for online registration of the programme. They conducted an informative session about different fields of technology such as programming, software development, graphic design, animation, sound production, and 3D design, and ways and means of acquiring these skills with the students of classes VI to X. A Graphic Designing competition was held as a part of the programme where students got an opportunity to work in pairs of 2 and create an advertisement in Adobe Photoshop.

- POSTERS SENSITIZING STUDENTS ABOUT DIGITAL ETIQUETTES
The Byte Club of the school organised ByteX - an Intra-School Tech fest for the students of classes VI-XII from 20.04.20 to 03.05.20.
Bal Bharati Public School , Pitampura organised the Annual inter school Tech Symposium- Byte.IT 2018 on 24th July , 2018. 21 prestigious schools from Delhi- NCR participated and showcased their talent. Our young technocrats designed their own T- Shirts, banners, promos and the website Byteclub.in. Also a live scoreboard and a live streaming of the event took place on the Facebook page of the club. Various competitions like HackOverflow, Robotics,Creative Combat, Game Development, Computer Quiz and a surprise event '404' were held. DPS RK Puram bagged the overall trophy and Modern School, Barakhamba Road was the first runners up.
Level I and II sessions were conducted from May 20th to 24th May 2019.
Level 1
The students of classes VI to VIII (Level 1) started with introduction to Robotics. During the sessions, they experimented with the basic components of the Robotics kit.
The participants learned about different types of wheels and made models of wind mill, land yacht and car . They practiced balancing of movement on these models.
Level 2
The students were introduced to Aurduino and Lego EV3 kit. They learned about programming and hardware -software interface. They programmed and assembled ROBOTS for Tug of war and sumo race.
ATL SESSIONS

Through this programme, which commenced in September 2021 and will continue till February / March 2022, the team will be allocated a funding (a total amount of Rs 35,000) for creating a pseudo start-up, design and prototype a product, 3D printing, prepare marketing campaign and define product pricing. |
ATL Community Day was celebrated from 12th to 16th April 2021. Students of Classes VI and VII performed the activity ‘Newspaper Structure’ with material readily available at home, like old newspapers, tape, glue, and pins. They built a strong structure which could easily withstand 100 grams or more weight.

- The student team ‘Legends of Robotics’ comprising Kaveesha Arora, Nitya Kalyani, Sukhdev Thukral (class VII), Pratyush Garg (class VIII) and Parth Malik (class IX) made an animated video using Plotagon Software to explain the purpose of their proposed app ‘Class Monitor’. They have also developed a mindmap on Tesla cars.
- Nitya Kalyani, a student of class VII, created an animation movie to wish teachers on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
- Namish Oberoi, class VII, created a website (digitaljourney.info) to disseminate information regarding digital tools to enhance our learning experience in these unprecedented times.
Culture Clubs have been initiated in the Senior Secondary Department to involve students in their hobbies /interest so that they don’t feel hedged in their homes during the global pandemic. These clubs have out of the box names like The Page Turners, The Innoventors, The Artisans, The Everyday Economists, The Cybernauts, Prashnotri etc. Students volunteered to join in the clubs of their choice. Fridays have become a day to look forward to as weekly club sessions are held on Fridays. The Student Council enthusiastically helps in the functioning of these clubs. The activities of these clubs were showcased as video presentations and shared across all class groups. |
THE CYBERNAUTS (BYTE CLUB)- |
A Computer Club, wherein the sessions enable the students to have an expanded skill set on web development, cyber security, graphic design, programming and motion design, all under the guidance of experienced mentors. |
PEHCHAAN DRAMA SOCIETY |
This Theatre Club conducts some fun basic improvisational and acting exercises, followed by tasks like nukkad, dramatic plays, mono and one acts, extempore, courtroom drama, debates and much more. |

A club, which provides space wherein all reading and writing enthusiasts can share their talent with each other and enjoy being a part of it. Students can also share and express their work on our WordPress blog or the Instagram page. |

This club holds discussions on how our daily actions impact our surroundings and how we as students can do better and become more eco-friendly. |

TRANSFORMERS CLUB

Students were introduced to the concept of General Speakers’ List which is the customary opening speech made by every member in MUN. The student delegates discussed the harmful effects of drugs and also pledged to ‘ SAY NO TO DRUGS’. |
The quiz club sessions updated the knowledge of the students in various fields like academics, general knowledge, quantitative reasoning through small quizzes. A quiz on ‘Olympics’ was one such activity.
- The Road Safety Club organised an activity-based session for the students of Class III in the month of August 2022. Students indulged in a gaming activity wherein they helped cars to reach the main point through a maze while avoiding a traffic jam. A word search activity was also conducted which helped students to enhance their vocabulary related to road safety.
- The Road Safety Team of the Primary Department encouraged parents to sign and pledge on 24th December 2022, to follow road safety rules to ensure safety of self, family and other travelers on road. Handouts were given to the parents as a reminder to follow their pledge.
TED –ED CLUB
‘Is honesty important?’
December 2022:This question was posed to the students of Grade V to raise curiosity in the young learners' minds. They were asked to guess what most people would do if they found a lost wallet. After conducting a poll and registering their response on the whiteboard, they were shown a TED-Ed video titled 'Would you pass the wallet test?' This was conducted as a social experiment to check the responses of people across the globe when faced with a similar dilemma. The results were contradictory to popular belief and totally unexpected by the students. This paved way for a fruitful and in-depth discussion on how an individual's sense of morality helps in creating an honest and corruption-free nation.
