==============================================================================================
The school has witnessed many milestones of excellence in games and sports. Our students have not only performed well at the state and national level but have paved their way to glory at the international front. In 2014-15, 49 students brought laurels to the school by winning medals at the state level. 29 made it to the national level while 4 carved a niche for themselves at the international level. The school sports excellence touched another peak in 2015-16. The hardwork and tenacity of the students paid dividend when 80 students became medal holders at the state, 50 represented the school at the national and 8 at the international front.
This success story has been made possible by exposing the students to regular practice and mentoring by experienced coaches. Early morning and after school practices help the budding sport stars to hone their skills and stay physically fit. Through morning games and PT periods, the students can learn any game they are interested in. Special Sport Camps in different games during the summer and autumn break ensure that more and more number of students get the opportunity to become champions by knowing and realizing the power that is within them. Training at different stadiums under specialized coaches gives more exposure to our national and international players, thereby building the stamina and resilience needed to survive in the challenging world of sports.
‘Sports Day’ for the Primary and Montessori, ‘Athletic Meet’ and ‘Swimming Meet’ for both Middle and Senior departments have been inducted in the school calendar precisely to allow the students to enjoy the thrill of competition. The ‘Sports Week’ brings about a series of inter house matches for different age groups enabling the talent to be tapped at the grass root level. Over the years, these have become occasions for the students to sharpen their social skills, team spirit, sportsmanship and above all to celebrate a sense of belonging to one big family that Bal Bharati is.
The school has always striven hard to find new ways and means to encourage students to participate in sports. As a part of this process, we have started the Sports Appreciation Awards wherein those students who devote school and off school time to sports activities and attain a minimum level set by the School’s Sports Council are awarded Special Badges. The sport stars who bring laurels to the institution are given Certificates of Merit in the game they excel in on the Annual Day. Students who win the first and second position at the state and national level are rewarded in the form of scholarships. All these achievements and spectacular performances find a mention in the Annual Sports Magazine. Moreover, the school tries to create awareness among the students and teachers about physical and mental well being by organizing special workshops and camps. These help the entire school fraternity to keep abreast with the latest trends and techniques in the world of sports.
